I have been training with Tristan since March 2005 and it’s been the best thing I have ever done for my health and fitness because before this I was exercising without any real structure and not seeing results. I would go to the gym and just do the same things all the time – I really enjoyed running on the treadmill but would get on and run at the same speed, then I would move onto a few other cardio machines before finishing. As soon as Tristan began setting me sessions I started to do reps for the first time – what a shock to the system as I’m not really a sprinter but I was amazed at how my fitness increased in such a short space of time. He also got me straight into adding weights to my cardio, which I’d previously avoided due to fears of bulking up. As well as this I learnt about the importance of stretching, cross training, and good nutrition. The biggest change though was how much more I enjoyed my sessions at the gym, pool or track or wherever as I had a set idea of what I needed to achieve and felt fantastic when I’d completed what Tristan had asked and given him feedback. It’s a great idea to keep a training journal so that you can keep track of your progress and look back and see how far you’ve come.

  Since working out with Tristan I’ve lost two stone, toned up all over, started eating so much better because I want to give my body proper fuel, I feel stronger and have bags more energy and more than ever I really really enjoy my training and the feeling I get when all the endorphins are buzzing around my body and I’ve sweated my way through the session to meet the target he’s set. I’ve run three 10ks and my new goal is to break 50 minutes – I’m determined I’m going to do it next time! Tristan has a fantastic personality, full of fun and humour making all the hard effort enjoyable and rewarding. He’s also very knowledgeable about fitness, sport, health and the athlete’s body so is a great help with injuries or any training problems. At the moment my knee is hurting me so we’re off the treadmill but I’m still going hell for leather on the ski cross trainer! I’ve also got stretches and leg weights reps to do whereas without him it would be so easy to give up the gym using my injury as an excuse.

  I would recommend personal training to anyone to get the most out of your workouts and your body, from someone who really knows what they are doing. Tristan has changed the way I look at exercising, made me fitter and happier and transformed my body into one I’m proud of. I wouldn’t have made the progress I have without each session building on the one before and constantly challenging me to put the effort in that I never have before – it’s been so worth it, I can’t recommend him enough.

.In November 2006, I was overweight and unhappy. I had never dieted before but had a sporty lifestyle previously.

My problem for weight loss was being too easy on myself, which is where a personal instructor helped. By having Tristan to impress it motivated me during the hard times.

I have recently finished my 6-month weight loss programme, which was the greatest feeling, but Tristan’s knowledge, commitment and friendly support was the vital part to my success. Through the ups and downs Tristan was there for me with challenging and constructive comments.

In total I have lost 3 stone and 1 pound making me 10 stone 7 from 13 stone 8. I simply could not have completed this without the hours of work Tristan put in, by making the sessions, texts/calls asking how the sessions went and observations, which made me, perform better.

I am so much more confident, happier and healthier through completing the disciplined programme.
